Real estate investing for the human animal

By Doc Schmyz

Have you noticed how anytime you walk in to a book store and find your way to the business or financial books all the views that are expressed in the titles are very similar??? In one way or another they all call out for a monetary version of bloodshed. I mean the titles are about "how you can crush the other guy"or "it's not personal its business", "How to come out on top" etc etc. Years ago when I got into the real estate investment game I spent hours looking thru the book titles. Trying to find the one book that would teach me how to become that REAL ESTATE INVESTING GOD I knew I could become. After reading many of the most popular books of the time I actually would feel beat up over the content. I mean did I have to be a "take no prisoners" type of investor? Did I have to prey on some one else's misfortune?? The answer was no. However I did need to learn to take somethings to heart, and NEVER let go of them. I liken it to building my investment suit of armor so to say. So I set out to build a list of my investment rules. We each should have our own set of investment rules. It will help you keep the animal investor inside of you in check. In my case, being that I am a VERY competitive aggressive alpha male type personality I need rules that would keep me "Human". My own set of personal laws that would keep me on the "non predatory" path. Doc's Rules for investing:

1) Set up some personal guidelines: Define and follow these guidelines. This is the most important rule I have. . Things to include, but not limit you to, are: Top dollar amount and lowest dollar amount. Type of investment you want to deal with. Period of term for investment.. Etc etc. (You can even have a guideline about the amount of time you will work per-day)

2) Remember some ones family is behind the deal you?re working on. Simply put, whoever you are dealing with has mouths to feed. Treat everyone with dignity and respect. If the price they are offering still falls within the personal investing guidelines you have set for yourself don't use your position to abuse the seller. If you are getting the house for .40 cents on the dollar, don't be a jerk and push for .30 cents. Always remember...it could be you in the sellers postion. (This rule DOES NOT come in to play when dealing with a bank owned property)

3) Always ask for what you want. Where does it say you can't ask for something in an investment deal you like? I.E. if you're looking at a piece of real estate, ask the seller if they would be willing to throw in new carpet to the sale. I knew a investor who was looking at a house that had been on the market for more than 6 months, when he went to talk to the seller he happen to see a 1954 Merc Coupe in the garage,so he asked if it was included in the deal. The deal eventually closed for the house AND the car. 4) Offer everyone the chance to make money as a bird dog for you. I always give several of my business cards to anyone I do business with and offer them a portion of any profit I make from any investments they help me locate. You would be amazed at how many people are willing to help you make money when they get a small part of it for doing very little work. (And if you follow rule #2 you will be amazed at how many of those bird dogs will sing your praises from the highest mountains)

These are just some ideas of things to keep in mind when you're working on your investment mindset. These rules have worked well for me over the years, and in more cases then not, have gotten me more return and repeat networking opportunities then I can count. - 23208

Barber Silver Quarter - Charmed Are They That Possess This Valuable Quarter

By Christina Goldman

The Barber Silver Quarter coins were first minted more than 100 years ago and are greatly treasured by collectors because they are considered vintage editions. These gorgeous silver coins are known as the Liberty Head quarters and are named after their designer, Charles E. Barber.

Consider yourself lucky of you have an 1896-S mintage of this quarter, for this is the most valuable of the lot. Still luckier are those who could get their hands on the Barber Dime which is one of the most treasured coins ever minted in the USA where but 24 coins were struck. There were only nine left of these very rare dimes which fetched for a whopping bonanza of close to 2 million US dollars in a fabled transaction two years ago.

There were 74 regular issues of the Barber Silver Quarter, none of which have the same reach as the pay-scale classification of the Barber Dime because the quarters offer no significant variations. Nevertheless, these quarters pose as a challenge to collectors because of the scarcity or low mintage of some coins that were struck in a particular year.

The quarters 1913-S mintage stands as among the most distinct with its 40,000 quarters issued, which went on the record as the lowest regular silver coin issue for the 20th century. The Barber Silver Quarter has a classic design which was drawn from ancient Greece and Rome inspirations. A Liberty head sporting a cap and wreath of laurel leaves is featured in the quarters obverse side.

The "Liberty" inscription in the images headband, which could rapidly wear out with handling of coins in circulation, is often the numismatists basis for determining the condition and intrinsic value of the circulated coins. The USAs original 13 states are honored in this quarter, represented by seven stars on the coins right and six on the left, with the ever-familiar "In God We Trust" motto appearing above. - 23208

CFD TRADING- Exit or Get Burnt

By cfdtrader

Today as the world's economies start to slow down, many people are searching for how to generate extra income to protect themselves for the upcoming tough times ahead. So what are you doing to help you generate extra income? Many smart traders are turning to the stock markets and forex markets to help them generate extra income.

The minute you place that trade you become emotionally attached to it, so when it becomes bad it can be difficult to cut that emotion. It is almost like love, if they loved you they wouldn't do bad or go bad.

So makes a successful trader or a trader that goes broke, the ability to exit. You see successful trader understands that they can't pick the forex market or stock market 100% of the time.

The successful traders go into the market looking at the worst case scenario and having a plan of exactly where to exit even if it goes against them.

Forex Traders and Stock market traders that go broke have no plan to exit, you most of the 'losers' have the view that they get the market right 100% of the time, so they are never wrong so they don't need an exit strategy. What can be worse than this is they will refuse to exit the trade, and then get caught in downward spiral. Make sure that your broker offers trialing stop losses, here is a great broker to consider or email support@cfdfxreport.com to get the name of this awesome broker.

You have to know when to fold them The exit decision is the most crucial decision of trading. When you explore the above statement it makes sense, you see it determines how much money you make or lose. A good strategy to implement when it is possible, that as soon as the stock moves up say 5% move the stop to break even, this will ensure you are a successful trader. If you are a forex trader, it can be around 20% (depending on leverage). If the stock moves up and then comes back it maybe that the momentum has shifted.

The two main forms of exiting are when you to cut your losses or when to take your profit of the table. The reason you must be able to take a loss, is that if you don't they may continue to spiral downwards and inflate the losses.

This all comes back to your rules and strategies. Letting the profits run can be an equally difficult decision, a strategy that can work effectively is the trailing stop loss, every time the position moves up a certain percentage you increase your stop loss. The benefit of this is that you are not trying to pick the top of the market. No Emotion. No Attachment. Its all in the mind I must reinforce this "The trading game is all about keeping your head and not letting emotion take over". This is why your trading plan is important, just as important that you have one that suits you and ensuring that you stick to the rules. Cutting loses is never easy, but a small loss is easier to take than a huge loss try and instill this into your mind and it should help. Don't every have the mentality that it is a small drop, it will come back then I will get out, it doesn't happen very often. The markets of late would have seen many of these traders be taken out of the market completely. There will always be another trading day.

Understanding Forex Scalping

By James Stiller

If you know much about currency trading, you've probably heard about Forex scalping. Unlike long term investors, Forex scalpers try to profit by rapid deals. They have a different set of skills and attitudes than most standard investors, but above all they must have well-developed self discipline.

So many traders make deals just for the sake of making a trade. Again, you must have plenty of discipline and wait for the right amount of information to guide you to make the right decision. Before getting into the forex scalping of trading, you must obtain one crucial amount of advice.

The market is usually in a consolidation mode about 60-80% of the time. This is when no changes take place. Hours could go by, before a move is made. A forex scalper, who is well versed will know that this is the right time for business to take place.

A successful forex trader should learn the skill of recognizing when previous highs and lows are taking place.

The stochastic and Moving Average Convergence Divergence are two examples of popular forex trading indicators that are used by scalpers. You do have to know how to customize them, however.

Things you Need to Learn Before Investing in Stocks

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Before investing in stocks there are some things you need to know and some questions you need to answer. It is always important to observe due diligence first and gather as much information you need before plunging into the world of investing. This rule does not apply in investing per se but in our daily lives as well. Dont we sit back and think through it whenever we are faced with decisions we know that can alter our life positively or negatively?

First is advice is to research if the company is growing in the next 5-10 years. This is very important as it will determine if your investment can enjoy capital gains in the long run. A thorough background check of the company is appropriate. You may also want to arrange a meeting with the owners and get to know them better in order to have a clear picture of the companys plans and path direction for the coming years. You may also ask around for information from fellow investors who invested in the company.

With the first step is to understand the company operations, values, vision, mission- anything related to the company. Having a clear picture and view of the company is part of your rights as an investor. When you buy shares from the company you become part owner and will have certain privileges like voting rights.

The next is that you have to analyze how much you are paying for that particular stock. Research thoroughly about the company and read/ track its market trends. It is better to have a clear view of how much you are willing to share before actually grabbing a checkbook and issue it to the company. Think of how much you are willing to pay for and at what value you are most comfortable with.

Now that we already discussed the things that one needs to consider before buying an investment, we should try to remember these and apply in our lives. - 23208
